Osaka - Universal Studios Japan has opened the doors to its latest theme park area: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The park area recreates the scenes and atmosphere as portrayed by the internationally popular novel and movie series. It is the first of its kind in Asia, following its success at the Universal Orlando Resort.

Attractions in the park area include: Hogwarts Castle, where one can experience the magical world of Harry Potter; Flight of the Hippogriff, a family-friendly roller coaster; and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, a dark ride which features cutting-edge imaging technology. Street performances by staff dressed in their wizard uniforms add to the entertainment.

At peak times when The Wizarding World of Harry Potter experiences high traffic, admission is regulated by the issuance of "Timed Entry Tickets", whereby visitors are allowed entry only at pre-determined time slots. These tickets can be exchanged for with the theme park's standard admission pass. They are free but once the allocated number has been taken up, admission will only be granted based on a lottery pick.
