1 Day Tokyo Itinerary

- View from the Tokyo Skytree

- Shopping and promenade walk at Odaiba

This itinerary offers a lively experience of metropolitan Tokyo and includes opportunities for shopping and recreation.

In the morning, make your way to the Tokyo Skytree, Japan's tallest structure at 634 meters. Two observation decks, located 350 and 450 meters above ground respectively, offer outstanding panoramic views looking over the nation's capital and beyond.

Solamachi, a huge shopping, dining and entertainment complex, occupies the first few levels at the base of the Skytree. Here, visitors can find shops selling a wide array of goods, ranging from fashion and accessories to souvenirs speciality goods. There is also a shop selling Hello Kitty and other Sanrio character merchandise.

Several chic dining and drinking establishments provide the opportunity for rest and repose. Located on the 5th and 6th stories of the Solamachi is the Sumida Aquarium. The aquarium houses many sea creatures and endeavours to present them in an artistic way, although some may consider its admission to be slightly over-priced at 2050 yen, considering its relatively small size.

In the afternoon, head over to Odaiba, a recreation destination built on a man-made island. Here, more shopping awaits at Palette Town, Diver City, Aquacity and Decks. When you have enough of shopping, stop by for some pictures with the gigantic Gundam Robot statue located in front of the Diver City complex.

Perhaps some entertainment? A wax model of Marilyn Monroe greets visitors at the entrance of Madame Tussauds at the Decks complex. Also at Decks is Joypolis, a futuristic indoor theme park with neon lights and attractions of virtual reality.

In the evening, enjoy a romantic stroll along the Odaiba Seaside Park and catch views of the Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo Tower in the sea breeze.
