This is a personal update, but I recently moved due to a job change, so it’s been a while since my last post. Thank you for your continued support!
This time, I’d like to introduce Kameyama Rosoku Town located in Kameyama City, Mie Prefecture. As many of you may know, Kameyama Co., Ltd. is a candle and incense manufacturer headquartered in Osaka. It’s a leading company in Japan, holding about 50% of the domestic market share, and it’s also one of the world’s top candle manufacturers. They’re known for creating spiral candles, candle services, candle relays, and the popular “Favorite Foods of the Deceased” series.

近況報告ですが、転職のため引っ越ししたため、久しぶりの投稿になってしまいました。変わらぬご愛顧をありがとうございます！
今回は、三重県亀山市にある カメヤマローソクタウン をご紹介します。ご存じのように、カメヤマ株式会社 は大阪に本社を構える、ろうそく・線香の製造メーカーさんです。国内シェアは約50％で、世界でも有数のキャンドルメーカーです。スパイラルキャンドル、キャンドルサービス、キャンドルリレー、そして人気の「故人の好物シリーズ」など、たくさんのユニークな商品を販売しています。

The shop, designed by Yasumichi Morita, is modern and stylish—it’s an exciting place just to be in. There are tons of fun and unique candle-related goods that are so charming you’ll find yourself buying something without even realizing it.
森田恭通さんデザインによるショップは、モダンでスタイリッシュ。その場にいるだけでワクワクするような空間です。楽しいキャンドルグッズがたくさんあって、いつの間にか買ってしまう魅力があります。
Right next to the shop is the Light Museum, a dimly lit space illuminated only by candlelight, where you can experience the beauty and comfort of candles.
ショップの隣にある 灯ミュージアム は、キャンドルの灯りで照らされた薄暗い空間で、ろうそくの美しさと心地よさを体感できる場所です。
Beside that is a workshop where, for a fee, you can make your own original candle. On weekdays only, you can also tour the factory on-site and see how candles are made. Aside from the candle-making workshop, everything else is free of charge.
その隣の ワークショップ は、有料でオリジナルキャンドル作りができます。また、平日限定ですが、敷地内の工場でキャンドルが作られている様子を見学できます。オリジナルキャンドル作り以外はすべて無料なのは嬉しいですね。
